Collection: Doreen Dauer

Doreen Kruczek Dauer was born in Taunton, Massachusetts. While in grammar and high school she attended the Rhode Island School of Design, Junior School. She graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston with a B.A. in Psychology and George Mason University with a Master’s degree in Psychology. In 1994 she received her Doctorate in Education from Virginia Tech.
Recently, she retired from Prince William County Schools as supervisor in the Office of Student Services after 38 years in the field of education. She worked as a school psychologist for 25 years before entering school administration. She is married to Bruce Dauer and together are parents of five children, Chris, Michele, Eric, Beth, and Brian, and grandparents of seven. The family has lived in Woodbridge since 1974 and have been Duck homeowners since 2009.
Dr. Dauer began working with oil pastels as a student of Luba Sterlikova and participated as a member of her private group of artists. She has exhibited at the Lorton Workhouse, and the Rockville Library, at JarettThor Fine Arts Gallery in Colonial Beach, at a private show at Art and Framing Gallery in Lake Ridge, a show endorsed by the Director of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
